This bust has a softer feel to it very appropriate to the fact that subject is a girl,
this is my least favourite of the 4 I think its because of the lack of embellishment

The Tunes of Joesph

The texture makes the painting a bit oriental witch i like, the characters are cool and modern.

line, shape, colour, tone; line in background, shape is visible everywhere with in the background details and characters.

This is my favourite of all I have picked I like the patters the artist created as details and accessories .

This exhibition made me realize that a textured canvas can make a big difference, and that animal characters make your painting much more cheerful.

Art Nouveau

Art Nouveau could be described with the elements of Flowing lines, Violent Curves and Organic subjects.
Art nouveau is graceful, sinuous lines hardly ever angular ,so artists explain the curves in Art Nouveau almost like whiplash curves Repetitive patterns and curvy lines are characteristics of this art style These curves usually construct an image, can be anything from flowing plains, hardware, humans or furniture.
In this art movement you will find an over whelming amount of flowers, leaves, vines, insects and plenty of other organic objects
Instead of classic gemstones during the period of Art Nouveau jewellers opted to work with opals and semiprecious stones moving away from the ordinary. Glass art became bigger and better and gained popularity as more artists became interested in Art Nouveau, Moulded glass, animal horns and ivory tusks became commonly used materials.

Gustav Klimt

Klimt was an Austrian painter born in 1887-1986 who is considered the embodiment of Art Nouveau, was founder of the ‘Vienna Secession’ school of painting.
Klimt’s work was not really accepted in his time, his art was very contradictory to what was being portrayed at that time. The art that Klimt brought to the table was erotic was sexual and he liked to mix the extreme opposites, example ecstasy and terror, life and death, austerity and pleasure.
One of Klimt’s important painting would be The Kiss part of the ‘golden phase’, the man’s robe subjects the sexual aspect of this painting , The Kiss had won over the public, after considerable criticism over his work

The three ages of women is an example of life and death opposites, in one painting.
Although it’s flat there is a feeling of movement in the painting the beauty of the women on the right show softness while the older woman on the left shows darkness and to add to that point her face is covered almost like he was trying to fade her off from the painting and away from the other women

Klimt's style was inspired by classical Greek, Byzantine, Egyptian, and Minoan art; late-medieval painting and photography
Klimt influenced a lot of artists before the pundits even knew who Klimt even was
We see a lot of work that has clearly been inspired from his work even modern replicas of his work

Victorian Fashion Then and Now

It is clear to see that the image on the left is a modern take on the traditional Victorian wear seen on the right, the artist of these ensembles is Dandies and Quaintrelles, artists that create their own spin on tradition clothing and scene
As to the norm we see Victorian fashion with the netted behind this artist removed it completely making a more sensual design, as to the button up shirts the designer minimized it and made the cleavage/ decolletage area open, the designer mimicked the ruffles found on the collar with a neck piece of fabric , the ruffles in the skirts themselves have been translated into layers on the bottom of the new design shirt.
